Mission:
Musiciansfund.com is part of the Musicgroups Network. Musiciansfund is developing
a platform for merging numerous Open Source software applications for integration
into our globalized network system. These applications are intern made available
for any one on the web to use on their own sites. Our main goal is to develop
a technological foundation that the combined code base can grow upon. By
making these systems open to the world wide web we are also contributing
back to Open Source as required by GNU licensing. By Starting a NOT FOR PROFIT
CORPORATION, we can accept contributions from failed sites and abandoned
development projects, along with charitable donations, and time donations.
By providing developers a centralized hosting and an archiving framework
for the community based featrues were freeing them to focus on building
new ideas and concepts! The networing and music cooperative helps to deploy
these new features literarily overnight! With the available source under
GNU developers from around the world can improve the software and maintain
sustained development.
Open Source code is widely used across the internet but is primarily
for webmasters and programmers so that they may use and manipulate/customize
the code for their own website. Each application requires updates and modifications,
by each web master, and constantly requires security monitoring. By centralizing
the applications we're making a system that removes all the high level
aspects and make the high these services easily available to average web
users.
This allows our end users bands/musician/artists the ability
to copy two lines of code into their own websites, and add advance
calendars, forums, blogs, and chat rooms. These applications are
shared by hundreds of other music sites. This new development platform
will allow us to freely add Open Source modules, along with code
contributions, and link them securely into our proprietary systems.
It’s becomes very easy to develop very
advanced features for the network community to use. This keeps development
teams focused and applications progressively getting better and better
as new developers add to the network model. Now the back-end development
teams have as much to gain from this network as the artists and musicians
it is built for! One of the top goals for musicians fund!
Musiciansfund makes these advanced features available to the
web and provides a centrally managed, foundation for both end users
and developers. This will speed up beta developments and improve
usability as the systems will evolve and can adapted quickly, allowing
us to set the state of the art for independents worldwide. One
of the most serious aspects of this project, rather than 100’s
of web masters managing thousands of programs, taking hundreds
of thousands of man hours the network metaphor allows a small team
to maintain to manage hundreds of sites effortlessly. Becoming
an instant time saver for web masters worldwide.
The Musicgroups Network CMS (Community Management System,) is the founding
network being completely integrated with the Musicians Fund Applications
making developing advanced music and arts portals easier and faster and
much more efficient than ever before.
